Organization of the Course
To help you navigate the course, the material in each unit is designed to lead you through a series of course readings, learning activities, and self-checks. Each unit starts with an introduction, and each topic includes a To-Do list outlining the activities and their estimated time. All course components follow a consistent and standardized format.
Learning Objectives
Every unit begins with Learning Objectives that describe what you should be able to know or do after successfully completing the activities and assessments.
Self-Check
- Try to answer the Self-Check questions and then select Show/Hide to reveal the answer and check your understanding. See the following Show/Hide example.
Show/Hide answer.
If you don’t get the answer right the first time, try re-reading the section and make sure you’ve completed the Learning Activities.
Feature Boxes
Feature boxes are used to highlight specific information, concepts, or examples that are important or noteworthy. They are designed to enhance your learning experience by emphasizing important elements and offering supplementary information that complements the main text.
Learning Activities
- Learning activities are exercises or tasks designed to actively engage you in the learning process. These activities go beyond passive reading and promote active learning, critical thinking, and application of knowledge. These activities encourage you to apply, analyze, synthesize, or evaluate the information presented in the text, and may include questions and answers, readings, problem-solving exercises, case studies, reflections and journaling, and other interactive online components. Try to complete each learning activity and answer questions on your own before checking your answers.
